The devil only resides within one's self-tortures. You torture yourself, you do. And it really hurts.

It doesn't have to be painful.

Ethics once told me that it doesn't exist. Morals are a human concept. Good and bad are only as real as the definitions a society makes them.

Why is it you look in sorrow, your heart slowing down and sinking, when presented a picture of a battered woman nursing her child? Is it wrong? Or is there something else?

Perhaps compassion. Or sympathy for others.

Ethics once told me that it shouldn't be argued. Morals are a manmade diversion. Good and bad are only as surreal as the definitions a crying mother makes them.
